🡺 Retractions and corrections

Emiko MedTech will consider retractions and corrections. Retractions are reserved for articles which are so seriously flawed that their findings or conclusions should not be relied upon, or which contain substantial plagiarism or life-endangering content.

Emiko MedTech may make minor corrections to accepted articles, such as those that arise during normal copyediting, typesetting or proofreading.

🡺 Publishing malpractice

In exceptional cases, Emiko MedTech may remove an article from online publication where we believe it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations or if publishing malpractice is found. This includes, without limitation, where we have concerns that the article is defamatory, violates personal privacy or confidentiality laws, is the subject of a court order, or might pose a serious health risk to the general public. In these circumstances, we may decide to retract the article and publish a notice that clearly states why the full article has been removed.

Guidelines for Authors

By submitting a paper to Emiko MedTech Publishers, you confirm that you've read these ethical guidelines, agree to their contents, and have taken all appropriate actions.

Content: All authors declare by submission that they have read and fully agree with the content of the submitted paper.

Ethics: Emiko MedTech Publishers reserves the right to reject submissions if the work does not align with the ethical framework for scholarly publications. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of research integrity.

Conflicts of Interest & Informed Consent

1. Conflicts of Interest (COI): Authors must declare all potential competing interests involving individuals or organizations that could reasonably be perceived as relevant. This includes, but isn't limited to:

  • Research grants or funding relationships.
  • Paid or unpaid relationships with organizations (e.g., NGOs, research institutions).
  • Membership in lobbying or advocacy groups.
  • Personal relationships with individuals involved in the paper's submission or evaluation (e.g., authors, reviewers, editors).
  • Personal convictions (political, religious, ideological) that might bias the publication process.

2. Informed Consent: If your research involved human participants, you must include an informed consent declaration in your article.

  • Informed consent is required for all human participant research, even if data is anonymized or identifiers are absent. Participants (or their legal representatives) must provide consent before joining the research.
  • You need to state whether consent was obtained (written or verbal) and, if verbal, explain why and how it was recorded.
  • If an ethical or legal body waived the need for consent, please disclose the organization's name and the reasons for the waiver in your declaration.

Plagiarism: Upholding Integrity in Scholarly Work

At Emiko MedTech, we are unwavering in our commitment to publishing original and ethical research. Plagiarism, in any form, fundamentally undermines the integrity of scholarship and is strictly unacceptable. We believe in transparently acknowledging every contribution to the scientific conversation.

To ensure the trustworthiness of every article, we define plagiarism broadly. It includes, but isn't limited to:

  • Direct Copying: Reproducing text, images, or data verbatim without proper quotation marks and clear attribution to the original source.
  • Unacknowledged Ideas: Presenting a unique concept, theory, or methodology without acknowledging the innovator or original source.
  • Improper Paraphrasing: Restating another's ideas, arguments, or findings in your own words without proper citation, making it appear as your original thought.
  • Misattribution: Citing sources you haven't actually consulted or attributing material to a source from which it wasn't obtained.
  • Data Falsification: Fabricating, manipulating, or altering research data. While distinct from traditional textual plagiarism, this is a severe form of academic fraud.
  • Undisclosed Collaboration: Failing to clearly acknowledge the contributions of all authors or collaborators involved in the work.
  • Self-Plagiarism / Duplicate Submission: Submitting your own previously published work (or a very similar version) to multiple journals without proper disclosure and permission. This includes publishing the same research in different languages without clear cross-referencing.

Our Commitment: Every submitted manuscript undergoes rigorous screening for plagiarism and unethical practices. By submitting to Emiko MedTech, you affirm that your work is original and adheres to these principles of academic honesty. Our aim is to safeguard the scientific record and ensure every innovation is accurately and ethically attributed.
